Television last night.
Cops. Or was it Texas S.W.A.T.?
Anyway, there was a segment on the Russian Special Ops police. They took down a counterfeit vodka operation. They even bagged the leader. The cops come storming out of the brush and the felons lay down instantly.
No attempt to get away at all. They lay down and fast.
Not in America. Nope. Bad guys try to run.
Why do they give up in Russia and not in the US?
BECAUSE RUNNING BAD GUYS GET SHOT IN RUSSIA!!!
We claim to be less barbaric. We claim to be more enlightened. I wonder, is it really more compassionate to let a felon escape to continue to wreak havoc on society? Perhaps we Americans can benefit by being a little less "civilized" in some circumstances.
The drug war: what a joke. Just go to a rock concert. Dope is EVERYWHERE. If we were serious about about the war on drugs then there would be a 20 foot amnesty zone where you could dispose of your drugs before entering the concert. That zone would be followed by drug sniffing dogs and a lot of police and paddy wagons. If you clear that, then into the concert you freely go.
