Georgia Tech, with funding from Intel and National Science Foundation, has developed a sheet of graphite knwo as grephene. Basically, it is a bucky-tube (or "carbon nanotube") laid out flat. They have made transistors (a planar FET) and a quantum interference device (VERY EXCITING!!!!! It operates at near room temp!!). The especially cool thing about their fabrication method is that they are using techniques that the semiconductor industry already uses.
Good things are coming soon...
