There is a DRM software that is installed as part of many computer games. The list is long and includes MANY popular games.

The software is called Starforce and it intended to prevent copying of the game you purchased. However, it has the side effects of causing DAMAGE, yes, physical damage, to your computer. Experiencing any CDROM performance issues?

See the post on Boingboing or the original post.

A few of the games that will infect you:

Area 51,
Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars,
Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones,
Singles 2: Triple Trouble,
Singles: Flirt Up Your Life,
Splinter Cell 3: Chaos Theory,
Syberia II,
UFO: Aftershock

And the list goes on and on...

And nope, the EULA doesn't mention this DRM stuff. It is installed without notice or permission.
