Unemployment Update

I am pretty much sick of searching for a job at this time. But, I must continue. Finding a job is now my job.

I have received one rejection already. But considering the number of applications I have made, it is not surprising. Better to have bad news rather than no news. That is what I like about the RayJobs site. They let you know what your application status is. It sucks to see "No Interest", but that is better than not having any feedback.

My day is typically spent doing the job search in the morning and then learning C++ in the afternoon. I need to add VHDL to my afternoon studies. I am finding that hardware design techniques have advanced greatly since my time at Dell. I need to learn new skills to remain relevant to my chose trade.

I can't go back to school right now since I have no income. Also, I don't know where I might be living in a few months. That is a scary concept. So, my studies must be on my own.

Call Comcast. They hiring techs in your area.
It may not be what you want, but it'll pay the bills.
The Dept. of Homeland Security is also looking for Super-Troopers to do patrol duty on the border there too.

Just suggestions.

We have Cox in this area. I did actually try the field tech route but they make it damn near impossible to apply.

Every other website I have been to uses HTML forms and a little bit of Javascript to post a resume and such. But not Cox. Noooo. They have some fluxed up popup applet that won't let you go back and correct any mistakes. Any error and you have to repeat the ENTIRE process over again. It even crashed Firefox once. I think the only way to apply for a job with them is to walk in their front door.

Borderpatrol.... nah. I am too agressive on such things. My opinion on stopping illegals from crossing would be sure to NOT get me the job.
