Part of my unemployment process is to "sharpen the saw". I was trying to gain more information about powersupply design to refresh my memory. I recalled from my days at Dell that we examined using a CPU powersupply chipset from Volterra. It was really neat. It has multiple phases, current sharing, and other technical goodness. We didn't use them since they were the new guy on the block and Dell has HUGE volumes. That means too much risk.
Well, I wanted to read their application notes and whitepapers. I am trying to reeducate myself on DC/DC power supplies. I filled out their forms and got this reply:
Volterra Access Denied
In reviewing you request for access for Volterra's secure website, we have
discovered that we do not have a current non-disclosure agreement (NDA) in place
with your company. We apologize, but the secure website is reserved for customers
currently working with Volterra who have a current NDA in place. Therefore, we are
unable to fulfill your request at this time.
If you feel that you have been incorrectly refused access to the secure area of

Why is this stupid? Because I cannot even look at their product line! I don't even know what they offer for SALE much less their reading material.
I have to sign a NDA to just read a stupid spec sheet? How do these guys get business?!!
