Muhommad Caraciture
I have a standard policy of NEVER forwarding chainmail. The example below is why. I received the following email yesterday:

From: < snipped>
To: < snipped>
Sent: 1/26/2010 3:58:06 P.M. Central Standard Time
Subj: FW: USPS New 44 -Cent Stamp

Do not buy any of these stamps
USPS New 44 -Cent Stamp Celebrates a Muslim holiday.

President Obama has directed the United States Postal Service to REMEMBER
and HONOR the EID MUSLIM holiday season with a new commemorative 44-Cent
First Class Holiday Postage Stamp.

REMEMBER to adamantly & vocally BOYCOTT this stamp, when you are
purchasing your stamps at the post office.

All you have to say is “No thank you, I do not want that Muslim Stamp on
my letters!”

To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those AMERICANS who
died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors.

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of Pan Am Flight 103!

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993!

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the Marine Barracks in Lebanon !

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the Military Barracks in Saudi Arabia !

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the American Embassies in Africa !

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the USS COLE!

REMEMBER the MUSLIM attack on 9/11/2001!

REMEMBER all the AMERICAN lives that were lost in those vicious MUSLIM

Pass this along to every Patriotic American that you know and get the
word out!
Honor the United States of America !=============

And my reply the the above stupidity:

See all the holiday $0.44 USPS stamps here:

Eid is there as well as Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas (Madonna and
sleeping child), snowmen, reindeer, gingerbread men, and a nutcracker.

According to the site, the Eid stamp was first issued in 2001. The
current Eid stamp is an *annual* reissue. That is, it has been issued
every year since 2001. If Obama is to blame for this stamp, then so
are former presidents Clinton (when the designs would have been first
submitted), and G.W. Bush.

Just so you know, the selection and approval of stamps is performed by the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee. They then review the submissions and send the approved ones to the Postmaster General for final selection. The process for approval takes up to three years.

Since July 1, 1971, the Postmaster General has been appointed by and serves under the Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service. Nine of the board members are appointed by the President of the United States, subject to confirmation by the Senate. The nine presidentially appointed Governors choose the Postmaster General. That is as close as the president gets to approving stamps.

The President has NOTHING to do with stamp selection.

If you are going to pick a fight, make sure you bring ammo. I get email like this and all I hear is the clicking of an empty chamber.
