We Are Experiencing Technical Difficulties. Please Stand By

The internet has been uppity this week at Casa de Robomarkov. I have been having to reboot the modem (unplug and replug my Terayon TJ715X) just to get 30 minutes of uptime. Then lather, rinse, repeat for another 30 minutes. Seems that my modem doesn't handle bad packets very well and the source of them is still not understood. Cox is slated to come by on Monday between 10 and Noon to have a look at what is going on.

I left the modem and my router unplugged all night to force the bad packets to expire (if they are there).

I am up again, for the moment.

What cable modem and provider do you use and how well does they both perform?

More posting later. I have to get my email straightend out.

Our modem is a Motorola SB5120? and Comcast is our provider. We haven't had any trouble to speak of since it was installed fifteen months ago.

My service used to crap out every so often and I would have to unplug the modem for a minute. It is dying a lot more now. In fact, it is about unusable. I guess I'll find out Monday if it is the modem or Cox.
