GENEVA, Switzerland (CNN) -- The World Health Organization on Wednesday raised its pandemic alert to 5, its second-highest level, warning of widespread human infection from the swine flu outbreak that originated in Mexico.

Now we come to the "tin foil hat" portion of this post...
!!!WARNING --- TINFOIL REQUIRED --- WARNING!!!
Let's look back in time to a Department of Health and Human Services declaration regarding anthrax
It seems to me (IANAL
) that this same waiver of responsibility can be applied to other widespread disease outbreaks.
Although this is called "swine flu", there is so far no hard connection to swine
. The H1N1 hybrid flu has attributes of avian, swine, and human influenzas. Why was it not called a variation of avian flu? Oh... H5N1 already has that pandemic market cornered
But... hmmmm... How very timely for such a declaration. Just saying. Seems a really good way to keep people indoors and not talking with friends/neighbors about how poorly our government is representing us and how far they have deviated from our founding documents. It is kinda hard to organize or participate in protests and rallies when public health concerns are keeping you home.
