Gmail Adds Easy Email Encryption

Email can be a major security headache. That's why corporations take pains to ensure that their sensitive emails are protected. Sometimes that means using encryption. Gmail users always get encryption protection when signing in, but now it is easier to encrypt messages and everything else, too. [...]
It is really simple. Instead of using http://mail.google.com
you should use https://mail.google.com
Note the addition of the "S" after http. It is THAT simple... of course your email itself will be unencrypted. This method will only encrypt the email from your browser to their server. After that, it is cleartext
for all snoopers to see; email is like sending a postcard.
If you really want to encrypt your Gmail email, then try using FireGPG
