Come on. Say it with me while waggling your fingers: "MystEEErrrriiiioooooous!"
I am not impressed by Qwest. I had a cable modem back in SVAZ, but here I am supposed to use DSL. The Actiontec modem is not Linux friendly. I could not get the ethernet port to work . Well, it worked up to the modem, but not beyond. I gave up about 11:30PM last night. A half-hour call to Qwest tech support didn't help. DHCP was not working so I manually configured my network settings. Static IP and DNS. Funny. I have never had this problem with my Motorola cable modem and Netgear router combo. The Actiontec just sucks I guess. Also, I have to have a password and username and it makes no difference if the "My ISP requires a username and password" box is checked. No user/pass, then no internet.
This morning I decided to dink with it again. I did nothing. No settings were changed. It was just working.

I tried to get the wireless up and configured, but now my USB external drive where I have the WEP info stored is not working. My USB key is working so I know it must be that drive. Different USB ports didn't help, either. DANGIT! That is where all the photos are!!! GAH!
[Don't make me hack you harddrive! I promise, I won't be gentle with the screwdriver. Just hand over your bits and you may go free.]
I will be very happy to have my own place and return to the goodness of digital cable.
