Muhommad Caraciture
I call it "Poking the Beehive"

The Muslims that protest this caricature are hypocrites. Did you know that in Saudi Arabia it is a CRIME to have a crucifix over your building? How come noone hardly protests and no one boycotts having crosses in a jar of urine? But ooooohhh noooo... that is art. Can't ban a socio-political statement if it offends Christians.

What the Muslims are doing is IMPOSING their religious and societal rules on those that are not followers of Islam. The Christians and Jews get blasted in the media for raising their voices on things they don't like as imposing their will. Why do the Muslims get a pass?

So here I am poking the beehive to expose the hypocrisy of the Western media and of the "Muhammadan rabble" that would force you to wear a burka and bow to Mecca though you may be Buddhist, Christian, or atheist.

UPDATE: See the cartoons for yourself at http://mohammed-cartoons.blogspot.com/

Oddly, I did not go through Google to find these. Google turned up nothing but the avatar you see here. Feel free to steal it.

I really hope I don't get fatwa'd for this. But, it would just go to prove my point.

And what do you suppose our counrty is doing?

Our dollar bills say "In God we Trust"
not "In allah we trust" or "In the gods we trust" etc.

And what about this same sex marriage stuff? It's the christian bible that dictates what marriage is... but the government is saying that it is between a man and a woman.

My opinion on marriage is that the government has no real business there... anymore. I agree with you that it appears to take a religious-based stand. However, the truth is that it is not religion that the government is taking a stand on despite the rhetoric from the politicians. It is based on economics.

Gay couples do not breed. How can you populate a nation with taxpayers if couples are not breeding? The argument is the same for the "non-breeder" couple wanting to be married: economic benfit.

State laws on insurance a quite clear on how insurance companies must treat married couples; it also affords tremendous protection for women that are leaving the workforce to have children. However, if the couple is "non-breeding" (not legally married due to same-sex) then they are not being afforded the same protection as, economically, they do not require it. So, why not

It is a potential burden to the health insurance companies as same-sex marriages would provide a mechanism for the same-sex couple to ensure health care for a friend with a chronic disease (AIDS, cancer, etc.) that would otherwise not be qualified for health insurance.

"In God We Trust"
[taken from http://www.treas.gov/education/fact-sheets/currency/in-god-we-trust.shtml ]

The use of IN GOD WE TRUST has not been uninterrupted. The motto disappeared from the five-cent coin in 1883, and did not reappear until production of the Jefferson nickel began in 1938. Since 1938, all United States coins bear the inscription. Later, the motto was found missing from the new design of the double-eagle gold coin and the eagle gold coin shortly after they appeared in 1907.

The motto was religiously inspired and added to US coins in the mid 1800s due to public demand. However, the term "God" still does not specify a particular deity or religion and only expresses the recognition of a power greater than The State. Such a loophole will likely keep the motto in print. The name "Allah" expresses belief in a particular deity and religion as that god is called out by name.

Beware, once a State or its populous no longer recognizes a power greater than The State, you will see a country rife with institutionalized opression and a marginalized value of life. The value of life will be worth nothing more that what keeps the powerful in power. The Soviet Union, China, and North Korea are all examples of what can happen when a people (a majority) lose faith in (or are prevented from worshipping) a power greater than their government.
