How to quit work for a year

Imagine this. At 6 o’clock this Friday you leave the office – as usual. Only this time it isn’t like usual, for you at least.
While all your colleagues are saying goodbye to one another with the familiar wishes “have a good weekend” and “see you on Monday”, for you it’s the last time you’ll see those four walls, that computer screen, that wilting pot plant, that miserable coffee machine - for a whole year. Yes, you read that right, one whole year.
Because on Monday morning rather than catching the 7.10am to Victoria you’ll be jetting off on the trip of a lifetime. [...]
